Dramm Podiums, Setzer Sets School Record At ACC Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. – University of North Carolina swimmer Louis Dramm claimed the first conference podium of his career and Sean Setzer set the 50 freestyle school record as the Tar Heels wrapped up day two of swimming at the ACC Championships. The men's team currently sits in ninth place with 239 points, while the women's squad is seventh with 239.5 points.

Dramm claimed third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:41.40 to hit the NCAA standard and score 27 points for the Heels. A senior from Dresden, Germany who is the school record holder in the event, Dramm improved on his fourth-place finish at last year's conference meet.

Setzer blazed a personal best of 19.07 to set the 50 free school record during prelims and then bettered it during the leadoff leg of the 200 free relay with a 19.04. He posted a 19.14 in the final to finish 13th.

Three additional Tar Heels posted Top 10s in their respective events led by Josh Parent, who moved to No. 4 all-time in the 500 free (4:17.67) to finish 19th. Maren Conze clocked a 4:43.65 in the 500 free prelims to move to No. 7 all-time at UNC. She went on to finish 15th in the finals with a 4:43.93. Samantha Armand set a huge personal best in the 200 IM to move into the Top 10 at No. 10 (1:57.92). Mary Macaulay, who holds the school record in the 200 IM, placed eighth in the event with a time of 1:56.28.

The swimmers will be back in action on Thursday with prelims getting underway at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.
