Knight Places Sixth In 3-Meter At ACC Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. -- University of North Carolina diver Sofia Knight opened the ACC Diving Championships with a sixth-place finish on the 3-meter springboard on Sunday evening. Knight, who qualified seventh during prelims, used a 290.10 to finish in the Top 8 in the first of her three events. She improved on her 10th-place finish from last season and her sixth place added 24 points to UNC's team score.
Carolina had four men in the 1-meter competition today with Chris Booler claiming the high finish at 14th. His finish was worth 13 points to the team score. Freshman Ciro Mejia placed 23rd, which was good for two points, followed by Rodolfo Vazquez in 27th and Carter Loftin in 39th.
The Heels will be back in action on Monday with the women on the 1-meter and the men on the 3-meter. Prelims get underway at noon with finals scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
