Heck Earns ACC POTW Honor
September 23, 2025 | Field Hockey
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina field hockey forward Ryleigh Heck has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Week after a 16 point weekend helped her team pick up two dominant wins.Â
Heck, the reigning ACC Offensive Player of the Year, has been incredible this season, but added some more punctuation marks to her play this weekend. The senior scored seven goals on top of two assists in two games as the Heels rolled to big wins over Cal and Stanford to kick off conference play.Â
The captain highlighted Sunday for Carolina, putting five past the Cardinal with four coming in the first half. It was the most goals scored in a game by a Tar Heel since Gab Major had the same number against Virginia back in 2015. The five goal outburst also catapulted Heck into the top-10 on the Carolina career goals list, giving her the eighth most all-time.Â
It is the fourth career ACC POTW honor for Heck and the third in three weeks for the Tar Heels.Â
