Women’s Soccer To Open Season On The Road At Tennessee

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina women's soccer heads to Knoxville, Tenn., to begin the 2025 campaign against Tennessee. The Tar Heels will clash with the Vols on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network.

For the first time in five seasons, Carolina sits at the top of the United Soccer Coaches and ACC Preseason polls. The No. 1-ranked Tar Heels will take the field behind key returners Kate Faasse and Olivia Thomas. The forward duo will look to help guide the defending national champions to another title this season.

The Matchup
UNC is set to face Tennessee for the 14^th time in program history. The programs last met in Chapel Hill during the 2022 season where the Tar Heels topped the Vols 3-0.

UNC owns a 12-0-1 all-time record against Tennessee.
Carolina has recorded seven shutouts against Tennessee.
Last time the Tar Heels visited Knoxville, they claimed a 7-0 victory over the Vols.
