The North Carolina women's tennis team heads west this weekend for a pair of huge matchups against ranked Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
The Tar Heels, ranked No. 7 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings, will play at No. 25 Stanford on Friday at 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (4 p.m. EDT) in Stanford, Calif., before meeting No. 16 California on Saturday at noon PDT (3 p.m. EDT) in Berkeley, Calif.
The matches are UNC's final two road duals of the 2025 regular season.
Carolina enters this weekend with a 16-4 overall record, including a 7-1 mark in ACC play. The Tar Heels are third in the conference standings behind Duke and Cal, which are tied at the top with perfect, 8-0 marks with the ACC Championships less than two weeks away.
The Tar Heels have won nine of their last 10 matches since the beginning of outdoor ACC play. Four Carolina players are ranked in singles play, all in the top 50.
The Cardinal is 13-4 this season, 6-2 in the ACC and 8-1 at home. Stanford has won two matches in a row and three of its last four. Stanford boasts four top-50 singles players, led by #8 Valerie Glozman.
The Golden Bears are 11-4 overall this season and a perfect, 8-0 in the ACC. Cal has won 10 consecutive matches and is 6-1 at home, losing only on January 25 to Oklahoma. The Bears also have four top-50 singles players.
