Field Events Continued To Shine In Raleigh
March 29, 2025 | Track & Field
RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina's field events started the season off strong, as the Tar Heels posted two more all-time marks in the hammer throw and pole vault.
Maddy Kelley's (4.05m) third-place finish in the women's pole vault invitational section landed her eighth all-time in Tar Heel history during the first outdoor meet of the season.
Kosi Umerah (59.10m) launched a big fifth throw to move into eighth all-time in for the women's. Umerah moved into the top ten during her first meet during the indoor season for the weight and kept that trend going into the outdoor season.
The men's hammer throw opened with three personal bests, led by Ty Castro (57.10m), who had a personal best throw each round and landed a seven-meter career-best throw on his final throw of the day.Â
