Track & Field Sets Five All-Time Marks In Virginia

BLACKSBURG/VIRGINIA BEACH, Va - North Carolina track and field opened day one in Virginia with five new all-time marks split between two different meets.
Doc Hale:
Peyton Berryman 4.08m and. Megan Kelleghan (4.08m) both moved into a tie for sixth all-time in the women's pole vault finishing in first and third respectively.
Evie Culbreath (3366 points) made her college pentathlon debut finishing in eighth highlighted by her performance in the 60m hurdles finishing in fourth.
Blaise Atkinson and Aaliyah Berry (8.20) both won their heats in the prelims of the 60m hurdles. Berry tied her personal best time as she won the race. Atkinson (7.98) finished in second.
East Coast Invitational:
Kosi Umerah (20.53m) has PRed in every single meet this season as she finished in second, moving into third all-time. Umerah passed Alex Cooke's 20.27m throw from 2018
Tommy Kitchell (20.09m) made his Carolina weight throw debut and PRed while moving into eighth all-time.
Henry Strand (1:50.22) made their 800m college debut and passed Doug Smith's 2005 time of 1:50.50 from 2005 and moved into ninth all-time.
Mac Conwell (4:06.86) posted a three-second PR in the mile to finish in fifth.
Reese Dalton (4:45.14) made her college debut by winning the mile, while the other two freshman Tar Heels posted PRs.
