February 7, 2025 | Men's Tennis
The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will hit the road for its first true road match of the 2025 season when it visits Georgia on Sunday at the Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga.
The Tar Heels and Bulldogs will hit the courts at 1 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday. The match is the lone road date during a nine-match stretch for Carolina.
Carolina is 4-2 this season and coming off a home doubleheader sweep of Campbel and North Carolina Central on Tuesday. UNC opened the season with a 7-0, shutout win over James Madison, then split two matches at the ITA Kickoff Weekend before losing a back-and-forth home match with Illinois last Saturday.
Georgia is 3-3 entering its Friday night home match with fifth-ranked Virginia in Athens. The Bulldogs have victories over Mercer, Presbyterian and Georgia Tech and losses to No. 23 Harvard, No. 21 UCLA and No. 4 Wake Forest.
After Tuesday's action, another Carolina home stand awaits. The five-match run at home will include a doubleheader with The Citadel (Sunday February 16), a match with 2024 NCAA Tournament participant South Carolina State (Thursday February 20) and the start of Atlantic Coast Conference play on February 28 and March 2 against Virginia Tech and Virginia, respectively.
