MacBryde, Troftgruben Named To 'On The Rise' Watch List

Chapel Hill, N.C. – University of North Carolina rowers Kate MacBryde and Lindsey Troftgruben have been named to the 2025 For Stars Network (FSN) 'On the Rise' spring watch list, the organization announced on Tuesday. Both sophomores, MacBryde and Troftgruben join 29 other ACC rowers and coxswains on the list. According to FSN, these athletes have demonstrated and qualified their placement on this watch list through their race results, erg times, improvement within their team, positive trajectory in talent and skill since last season and this past Fall semester, research of the program and athlete over a one year period.
A St. Louis native, MacBryde missed last season due to injury, but is expected to contribute during the 2025 season. Troftgruben, an Aurora, Colo. native, competed in nine races over four events, including the ACC Championships, during her freshman season in 2024.Â
