• Carolina won its season opener for the 21st consecutive season.
• The 40-point win was UNC's largest since a 52-point win over American last November.
• It was the largest win in a season opener since a 115-75 win over Howard on 11/29/1975.
• The Tar Heels are 104-12 all-time in the first game of the season.
• It was UNC's 24th straight victory in a home opener.
• Carolina is 490-90 all-time in the Smith Center, including 233-19 against non-ACC opponents.
• Caleb Wilson became the 40th Tar Heel to start his first game as a true freshman since freshmen became eligible in 1972-73.
• Wilson led all scorers with 22 points. The 22 points are the most by a freshman in his UNC debut since Cole Anthony scored 34 vs. Notre Dame on 11/6/2019.
• Henri Veesaar scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds to post his first career double-double.
• Twelve Tar Heels played their first game as a Tar Heel. Four Tar Heels had previously played for UNC (Seth Trimble, Zayden High, James Brown and John Holbrook).
• Carolina went on an 18-0 run in the first half. The Tar Heels' biggest run last year was 16 against La Salle.
• The Tar Heels had 23 assists. Last season, they exceeded that total one time, when they had 24 in a win at Virginia Tech.
• Carolina led for 39 minutes and nine seconds and never trailed.
• The Tar Heels shot 50.8% from the floor, improving to 36-1 in five seasons under head coach Hubert Davis when thet shoot 50% or better from the floor.
• Carolina's five starters were a combined 24 for 39 from the floor (61.5%).
• UNC is 1-0 all-time against Central Arkansas.
• The Bears were the 151st different opponent to play UNC in the Smith Center in a regular season or postseason game.
• No Central Arkansas player scored in double figures. It was the first UNC held a team without a double-figure scorer since a win at Evansville on 12/8/2010.
