January 27, 2025 | Women's Rowing
Chapel Hill, N.C. – The University of North Carolina rowing program will have 12 days of racing over six weekends as part of its 2025 schedule, head coach Erin Neppel announced on Monday.
Â
The Tar Heels will kick off the racing season with a scrimmage versus High Point on Saturday, March 8 at 8 a.m. That race will take place at Jordan Lake.
Â
The first regatta of the season is the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Louisville on Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. At last year's event, the Tar Heels claimed five victories, two by the V4, one apiece by the 2V4, 3V4 and 2V8.
Â
On Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, UNC heads south to Sarasota, Fla. for the Sunshine State Invitational hosted by UCF. Last season, UNC finished fourth out of 16 teams in the Benderson Cup Standings, led by the V4 finishing second in a tightly contested race with UCF.
Â
A week later, the Tar Heels will travel back to Oak Ridge, Tenn. For the Rocky Top Invite hosted by Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5. This will be the Tar Heels first time entering the event.
Â
UNC will finish out the regular season by hosting the Lake Wheeler Invitational Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 in Raleigh. The two-day event is co-hosted by Carolina and Duke and offers spectators in the area an opportunity to see some of the best rowing programs in the country.
Â
The Tar Heels will battle the rest of the league at the ACC Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Clemson, S.C. UNC will be looking to improve on its seventh-place finish at last year's conference regatta.
