WTEN Beats Alabama, 4-1; Advances To ITA Kickoff Title Match

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- In its first round matchup of ITA Kickoff Weekend, the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels (4-1) defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide (0-2), 4-1 in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels jumped out to a quick 1-0 advantage over the Crimson Tide after Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton won 6-1 on court one. A few moments later, seniors Carson Tanguilig and Lindsay Zink teamed up for a doubles-clinching 6-1 victory on court three.
With the 1-0 advantage, Carolina immediately set the tone in singles play. Reese Brantmeier, Theadora Rabman and Alanis Hamilton each recorded straight-set victories on courts one, two and four to give UNC its second, third and match-clinching fourth point.

Up Next:
Carolina will face Wisconsin on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the championship match at Chewning Tennis Center. The winner of tomorrow's match will cement its spot in the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
