CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- In the championship match of the ITA Kickoff Carolina regional, the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels (5-1) defeated the Wisconsin Badgers (1-1), 4-0 in Chapel Hill.

Despite dropping the doubles match on court two, Carolina battled back to win the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.

On court one, Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton forced a court three tiebreaker after winning 6-2. Then, on court three, seniors Carson Tanguilig and Lindsay Zink fought back to win 7-5 and clinch the doubles point for Carolina.

In singles play, Reese Brantmeier led the Tar Heel charge with a straight-set victory (6-3, 6-0) over third-ranked Sholokhova on court one. Then, on court four, freshman Alanis Hamilton quickly pushed Carolina to the brink of victory with a straight-set 6-3, 6-1 win. Finally, on court two, Theadora Rabman cemented Carolina's spot in Illinois with her own straight-set victory (6-3, 6-1) on court two.

Carolina will travel to the state of Illinois for the 2025 ITA Indoor Team Championships. This year, the University of Illinois and Northwestern University are co-hosts. The Tar Heels will await to see which location they will be at for the first round of the tournament.

North Carolina has won four of the last five ITA Indoor team championships.
