Will Coogan Wins Penn Relays 5k, Track & Field Heading To Charlotte This Weekend

On Thursday at the Penn Relays, Will Coogan won the men's 5,000m, and Patrick Anderson finished third with Coogan clocking in at 13:52.60 and Anderson at 13:53.
One year ago, they were involved in a serious car accident on the way to practice with three other teammates. After dealing with hospital stays, a lengthy recovery period, and missing several semesters of school, the duo has overcome it all to get back to racing again.
This weekend, members of the University of North Carolina men's and women's track and field teams will journey south for the Charlotte Invitational, hosted by UNC Charlotte.
The meet will begin on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and continue into Friday evening. Saturday's action will begin at 11 a.m. at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center in Charlotte.
The Tar Heels are coming off a very successful split-action performance last week that included multiple event wins at the Wake Forest Invitational and Georgia Tech Invitational.
