Tar Heels Blank Pack To Advance To ACC Final

CARY, N.C.—North Carolina won the doubles point and went on to beat NC State, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship at the Cary Tennis Park.
Seeking their 12th ACC title, the top-seeded and fifth-ranked Tar Heels (22-3) moved on to Sunday's ACC championship match against No. 2 seed Virginia, which beat Florida State in Saturday's other semifinal. Fourth-seeded NCSU fell to 20-8. Sunday's title match is slated for 2 p.m.
Carolina took the doubles point to start the afternoon, winning all three doubles matches.
Elizabeth Scotty and Anika Yarlagadda, ranked #43 this week by the ITA, started things off with a 6-2 win over #19 Sophie Adams and Anna Zyryanova. UNC's #27-ranked duo of Abbey Forbes and Reilly Tran clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Gina Dittmann and Abigail Rencheli. The Tar Heels earned a clean sweep in doubles when #11 Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig edged 10th-ranked Amelia Rajecki and Maddy Zampardo, 7-5.
In singles action, Carolina got wins from Tanguilig, Yarlagadda and Scottyn for the 4-0 final margin.
