Track Sets Multiple Personal Bests In Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. -- The Carolina men's and women's track and field teams fought hard in Atlanta on Saturday, with numerous runners setting personal records.
Craig Saddler continued to impress, placing fourth in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 49.76s. His time was good enough for not only a personal record, but places fourth all-time in school history.
Saddler's teammates Matthew Harris (51.78s) and Blaise Atkinson (52.40s) were right behind him in the men's 400 race, finishing third and fourth respectively.
The women's 4x400 team of Delea Martins, Danni Stoughton, Aaliyah Berry, and Jocelyn Johnson put out a strong performance with a second-place finish and a time of 3:42.44.
The men's 4x400 team of Craig Saddler II, Reece Morgan, Trevor Pascahall, and Blaise Atkinson also had a big day, placing third with a time of 3:10.98.
Martins set a personal record of 54.51s in the women's 400 race while placing sixth.
Other Tar Heel bests included Trevor Paschall (47.50s) and Jaylen Marsh (47.87s) in the men's 400m race.
Sydney Banks had a good day on the high jump, placing fourth with a jump of 5'7".
Paul Signorelli and Ben Finger just missed the podium in the men's pole vault, tying for fourth with a leap of 16' 1¾".
The Tar Heels will be back in action again next Friday and Saturday in Charlotte as they head to the Queen city for a two-day event hosted by UNC Charlotte.
