Women’s Soccer Journeys West For Ranked Contest At Cal

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A new era in the North Carolina vs. California series begins on Thursday, Oct. 10, as the second-ranked Tar Heels take on the 17th-ranked Golden Bears in their first Atlantic Coast Conference meeting. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) at Edwards Stadium in Berkeley, California.
The match will air on ACCNX with Dr. Ty-Ron Douglas and Mia Fontana on call. This will be UNC's third ranked matchup this season.

- UNC has out-scored Cal 32-8 all-time. Carolina posted a 3-1 win in the last meeting on Aug. 20, 2023, in Chapel Hill.
- A win on Thursday would mark Carolina's 250th regular season ACC win. Virginia ranks a distant second with 183 ACC regular season wins, also in 38 seasons.
- The Tar Heels are 5-0-0 in conference play for the first time since 2020.
- Kate Faasse leads the team with 10 goals and 21 points. Her five game-winning goals rank first in the ACC and is tied for second in the nation.
- Faasse has scored in five of the last six games. In UNC's last match against Louisville, she recorded her second brace of the season.
- UNC has kept all opponents to five shots on goal or fewer (2.5 per game), as well as all opponents to 15 shots or fewer (6.2 per game).
