CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina volleyball (17-2, 9-1 ACC) capped off a winning weekend with its second five-set match victory (26-24, 23-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-8), beating Miami (14-7, 5-5 ACC) on Sunday and staying undefeated at home.

Carolina and Miami battled hard in the first set, going point-for-point almost the entire set until the Tar Heels finished it off, 26-24.

After a tightly contested second set loss, the intense play continued into the third set. When Miami went on a scoring run, Carolina responded immediately with a run of its own, and after the 14th tie of the set, UNC finally pulled ahead for good.

By winning the fourth set, Miami gave the Tar Heels a run for their money and forced a fifth set.

For the second straight match, the Tar Heels put on an offensive show in the fifth set, jumping out to an early lead before winning by seven.

NOTABLES:

Mabrey Shaffmaster moved past Tori Seibert (1996-99) with her 134th career service ace. The senior now sits at 6th all-time. She produced four today.
Taylor Eisert and Zoe Behrendt have recorded double-digits assists for six straight matches.
The Tar Heels are undefeated in every five set matches this season, including two this weekend.
Behrendt posted a career-high 14 digs
Shaffmaster had a season-best 25 kills
