No. 1 Women’s Soccer Heads To Charlottesville To Take On No. 22 Virginia

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women's soccer, which checked in at No. 1 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, hits the road to take on No. 22 Virginia on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Klöckner Stadium. It will be UNC's sixth top-25 matchup this season.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the game being broadcast on ACCXN.

- North Carolina checked in at No. 1 in the recent United Soccer Coaches poll for the first time this year in addition to holding the top spot in the season's first RPI.
- Thursday will be the 50th meeting between the Tar Heels and Cavaliers in program history.
- UNC leads the all-time series with UVA at 39-5-5. Carolina is 14-2-2 all-time in Charlottesville, including 10-2-2 at Klöckner Stadium.
- The last meeting between the two teams was Sept. 17, 2022, in Chapel Hill, for a 3-2 UVA victory. Ally Sentnor scored once and Avery Patterson assisted both goals.

- Friday's victory over Virginia Tech was UNC's 240th ACC win in program history. UVA ranks second all-time for conference wins with 179.
- North Carolina was picked first in the ACC preseason coaches poll with 10 first-place votes and 166 points. Virginia was picked third with 139 points and one first-place vote.
