CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The second-ranked University of North Carolina women's soccer team begins Atlantic Coast Conference action on Friday, Sept. 15, against Virginia Tech with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Dorrance Field.

The game will air on ACCNX with Dean Linke and former Tar Heel standout Brianna Pinto on call. Friday will also be a doubleheader with UNC men's soccer, and one ticket will gain access to both events.

North Carolina, which moved up one spot in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll to No. 2, has been ranked in the top four all year.
This will be the 25th meeting between North Carolina and Virginia Tech in program history.
The Tar Heels lead the series at 20-3-1, having out-scored the Hokies 58-17 all-time.
Carolina seeks to extend its unbeaten streak of 10-0-1 over Virginia Tech in Chapel Hill.
UNC is 30-6 all-time in Atlantic Coast Conference openers and is 10-4 when starting conference play at home.
This will be the third meeting between the Tar Heels and Hokies in a conference opener, with the two other occasions (2013, 2015) resulting in a 2-1 UNC victory.
The conference runner-up a season ago, UNC was picked first in the ACC preseason coaches poll with 10 first-place votes and 166 points.
Maycee Bell, Sam Meza and Ally Sentnor were all named to the Preseason All-ACC Team; UNC's three honorees were the most in the league.
Avery Patterson was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12 following her two-goal performance against SEC opponents on the road.
Carolina owns half of the ACC weekly awards this season: Savy King (Aug. 22, Sept. 5), Meza (Aug. 29) and Patterson (Sept. 12).

The Tar Heels enter Friday's contest undefeated at 5-0-3 while the Hokies arrive in Chapel Hill with a 3-2-3 mark on the season.
