April 13, 2023 | Men's Tennis
The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will close the 2023 regular season this weekend with a pair of home matches against ranked Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels will host No. 19 Florida State on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 47 Miami on Sunday at noon. The match against the Hurricanes on Sunday will include a Senior Day ceremony to honor departing team members playing their final regular season home matches.
Carolina has won eight of its last 11 matches but lost, 5-2, in its outing on April 8 against Duke.
Friday's match will come in a doubleheader after the top-ranked UNC women host No. 3 Duke at 3 p.m. With the possibility of rain forecasted on Friday, the action could move to the adjacent Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts.
The Tar Heels are 7-3 in ACC action this season, third in the conference standings. Florida State is second in the ACC at 8-2 in conference matches, making Friday evening's meeting of key importance leading into next week's ACC Championship.
The 2023 ACC Championship will be April 19-23 in Cary, N.C.
