Wrestling Welcomes NC State For Regular Season Finale

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 27 North Carolina wrestling team (6-8, 2-2 ACC) closes out the regular season this Friday night, welcoming No. 8-ranked NC State (13-1, 3-1 ACC) to Carmichael Arena for Senior Night.

Last Time Out
Virginia Tech was victorious on the road last Friday night, defeating North Carolina 28-8 in Carmichael Arena.

The Hokies stormed out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back, winning eight of 10 matchups with the Tar Heels. Lachlan McNeil (141) and Austin O'Connor (157) secured top-15 wins, courtesy of major decisions.

O'Connor Named ACC Wrestler Of The Week
Austin O'Connor garned conference honors on Tuesday, being named ACC Wrestler of the Week.

The recognition comes following O'Connor's major decision (11-3) against Virginia Tech's fifth-ranked Bryce Andonian Friday night. O'Connor, who currently sits at 15-0 on the season, has registered 14 bonus point victories on the season, with the lone decision coming in his season debut on Dec. 16 against Appalachian State.
