Men's Tennis Opens Dual Season With Home Doubleheader Thursday

The 2023 dual match season begins on Thursday for the Tar Heel men's tennis team with a doubleheader on the indoor courts at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Carolina will host Campbell at 3:30 p.m. and North Carolina Central at 7 p.m. A live stream of the matches is available, and fans can follow along with live scoring.
The Tar Heel men finished preparations for dual match competition with a strong performance last weekend at the Allen Morris Invitational in Chapel Hill.
Thursday will mark the potential debuts of four new Tar Heels. Ryan Seggerman (Coronado, Calif.) and Karl Poling (Boise, Idaho) are both graduate transfers from Princeton. Seggerman has one year of eligibility remaining and Poling has two. Other new team members who could debut on Thursday are freshmen Benjamin Kittay (Potomac, Md.) and Will Jansen (London, England).
After Thursday's matches, Carolina will play a road match at No. 9-ranked South Carolina on Sunday at noon.
The Tar Heels will return home the following weekend when they host a regional in the ITA Kickoff Weekend on January 28 and 29. UNC, Columbia, Harvard and Oklahoma State will face off in Chapel Hill that weekend with the ultimate winner heading to the ITA Team Indoor National Championshp in Chicago, Ill., in February.
