#1 Women's Tennis Blanks Virginia Tech

CARRBORO, N.C. - No. 1 North Carolina earned a 7-0 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday in an ACC women's tennis match from Chapel Hill Tennis Club.
North Carolina improves to 14-0 on the season and 3-0 within league play. Virginia Tech falls to 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Junior Elizabeth Scotty and senior Alle Sanford got the Tar Heels rolling, winning their doubles match 6-1 on court 2. While not outdone, sophomore Reily Tran and senior Cameron Morra won 6-1 to clinch the doubles point.
No. 7 Cameron Morra, No. 25 Carson Tanguilig, and junior Anika Yarlagadda made quick work of the Hokies, securing the necessary three single points to win the match.
No. 10 Reilly Tran, No. 35 Fiona Crawley, and senior Alle Sanford also picked up wins to finish a perfect day for the Tar Heels.
Tran won her first set 7-6 by way of a 7-4 tie break. She did not look back, winning her second set 6-0.
Like today's match, the Tar Heels will be back at Chapel Hill Tennis Club tomorrow to take on No. 12 Virginia at 2 p.m.
