Top-Ranked WTEN Too Much For Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky - No. 1 North Carolina earned a 6-1 victory over Louisville in an ACC women's tennis match Sunday afternoon from Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
North Carolina improves to 13-0 on the season and 2-0 within conference play. Louisville falls to 7-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.
After dropping the doubles point in the last two matches, Carolina shuffled its lineup and the results were positive in taking the 1-0 lead over the host Cardinals.
Juniors Kacie Harvey and Anika Yarlagadda captured a 6-1 victory on court two, and the combination of senior Alle Sanford and junior Elizabeth Scotty, who had only played together once previously, secured the opening point with a 6-2 win from court two.
The Cardinals won the first point in singles, but UNC answered with the final five points of the match to improve to 7-0 all-time against Louisville.
Yarlagadda and Harvey both won in straight sets to make it 3-1 Tar Heels, before Sanford clinched the win on court five.
No. 7 Cameron Morra and No. 35 Fiona Crawley won third set super breakers to round out the afternoon's festivities.
UNC returns home for the first time late January to host Virginia Tech on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Virginia on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both matches will contested at the indoor courts of the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
