#3 Women's Tennis Dispatches ECU, Campbell

CHAPEL HILL - No. 3 North Carolina (4-0) earned its second doubleheader sweep in the last four days with a pair of 7-0 wins over East Carolina and Campbell on Tuesday.
The victory over the Pirates set the program record with its 51st consecutive home win. The previous mark was set between 2014-17, while the current streak began with a 7-0 win over Virginia Tech on March 25, 2018.
In singles, No. 7 Reilly Tran, No. 19 Fiona Crawley, Sophia Patel, Sara McClure each recorded two singles wins on the day. No. 13 Carson Tanguilig, No. 57 Anika Yarlagadda, Alle Sanford, and Kacie Harvey would each pick up a singles victory as well.
Crawley's win was the 50th of her collegiate career.
The sixth-ranked duo of Morra and Tanguilig continued their run of dominance with another pair of victories. No. 34 Sanford and Tran, No. 48 Crawley and Yarlagadda, Yarlagadda and Harvey, and McClure and Patel would each pick up a doubles win for the day.
Court four was hot for the Tar Heels all day. Yarlagadda got the magic started winning both sets 6-0 against ECU. Harvey would pick up where Yarlgadda left off, winning 6-0 in straight sets against Campbell.
Patel stole the show in both matches. She rallied from 4-1 against ECU in the first set to win both sets 7-5. Then against Campbell, she won the third-set superbreaker, 13-11, after initially falling behind 9-3 to give Carolina their final point of the day.
The Tar Heels will look to extend their home winning streak against the fourth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday at 11 a.m.
