Senior Salute! Heels Win 4-0 Over ODU In Home Finale

CHAPEL HILL - The final home match for three legendary Tar Heels saw top seed North Carolina post a 4-0 shutout over No. 29 Old Dominion in the second round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Team Championship.
Carolina (28-0) has advanced out of regional play 11 times in a row, and improves to 50-21 all-time in NCAA postseason play. The Monarchs were coming off their first NCAA win in program history yesterday over Arkansas.
The Tar Heels will face 16th seed Cal in a Round of 16 match next Sunday at the USTA National Center in Orlando, Florida. The Bears have won the two previous meetings between the schools in NCAA play, a 4-1 Round of 16 victory in 2003 and a 4-1 second-round win in 2001.
Today's win marked the final home match for the trio of Sara Daavettila, Alexa Graham and Makenna Jones. They wrapped up their careers with a 71-3 record at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, with wins in their last 48 matches at the facility.
The doubles point went to the host Tar Heels. No. 4 Elizabeth Scotty and Makenna Jones won 6-0 for the second day in a row on court two, while No. 34 Alle Sanford and Reilly Tran clinched the doubles point for the second time in as many days from court three.
UNC wrapped up the match with singles wins from No. 2 Sara Daavettila on court one, No. 97 Elizabeth Scotty on court four and No. 36 Fiona Crawley got the clincher on court six.
Saturday's win also extended Carolina's ACC record to 46 consecutive victories
