Saddler, Wiltrout Shine At Virginia Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Two Tar Heels won their events and several others had second-place performances on Saturday at the Virginia Invitational.
 
Freshman Craig Saddler II won the men's 400m hurdles in a personal-best time of 52.12.
 
Senior Madison Wiltrout continued a standout weekend for UNC throwers, winning the women's javelin with a distance of 51.56m (169-2), following a sweep of the men's and women's hammer throws on Friday.
 
Senior Anna Keefer placed second in the women's long jump with a personal best 6.36m (20-10 ½ ), the sixth-longest mark in school history.
 
Senior Emerson Porter placed second in the women's pole vault and was the top collegiate competitor with a height of 3.96m (12-11 ¾ ).
 
Tar Heel men were second in a trio of races: Qhiyal Towns placed second in the 100 meters in 10.57; Isaiah Palmer was second in the 200 meters in 21.41; and Onyedikachi Ohia-Enyia was second in the 400 meters in 47.91. The UNC men also were second in the 4x400 relay.
