Tar Heels Headed To 2020 ACC Indoor Championships

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of North Carolina track and field teams is set to compete at the 2020 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of Notre Dame beginning Thursday, February 27 through Saturday, February 29.
The Tar Heels will take a team of 34 individuals and four relays to the championships held in the Loftus Sports Center. This is Carolina's first trip to Notre Dame's campus since the team competed in the Notre Dame Invitational in January 2018.
The conference meet kicks off Thursday at 3:30 p.m. with the women's weight throw followed by the men's event at 6 p.m. as well as both DMR races – men's DMR at 7 p.m. and the women's at 7:30 p.m. Carolina will have two competitors in the men's weight throw – Daniel McArthur and Madias Loper – as well as entries in both the men's and women's DMR.
The ACC Championship will resume Friday at noon with the women's high jump. On the track, the unseeded heats of the men's 5,000-meter competition are also schedule for a noon start. The finals of the 5,000 meters, high jump, long jump, weight throw and men's pole vault will be contested Friday, with the majority of the track events in the preliminary stage.
The final day of the meet will resume on Saturday with the field events beginning at 11 a.m. and the track events at noon. The finals of the mile, 60-meter hurdles, 400 meters, 60 meters, 800 meters, 200 meters, 3,000 meters and 4x400 relays will take place Saturday, along with the triple jump, shot put and women's pole vault.

ACC Network Extra will again provide coverage on Friday, Feb. 28 from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, February 29 from noon until the meet's conclusion. The ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships will feature Dave Milner as researcher and analyst. He will be joined by play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney, analyst Larry Rawson.
