Bergner, Lu Lead Tar Heels on Day Two at Darius Rucker

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - At the conclusion of the second round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club, the Tar Heels remain in 16th place.
Freshman Nicole Lu led the ways for the Tar Heels with a 2-over-par 73. Her round was highlighted by birdies on the front-and-back-nine.
Sophomore Ava Bergner was the next lowest scoring Tar Heel with a 3-over-par 74. Overall, both Lu and Bergner are tied in 33rd after two rounds.
Brynn Walker carded a 75, Kelly Whaley shot a 77 and to round out the scoring Mariana Ocano recorded an 80. Competing as an individual, Jennifer Zhou recorded a 5-over-par 76.
The Florida State Seminoles captured the overall tournament lead with a team performance of 3-under-par.
The third round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate is set to tee-off at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday.
