Road Swing Takes Heels To Syracuse And Pitt

No. 2 ranked North Carolina women's tennis is set for a road trip through the northern portion of the ACC with a Friday afternoon match at Syracuse and Sunday morning at Pitt.
The Tar Heels continue to lead the conference with an unblemished 8-0 mark and a 20-1 overall record in 2019. Georgia, the only team to defeat UNC this season, regained the top ranking in the country this week in the most recent Oracle/ITA rankings.
The singles lineup features three top-10 competitors: No. 3 Alexa Graham, No. 5 Makenna Jones and No. 9 Sara Daavettila, followed by No. 25 Cameron Morra.Â
Carolina's doubles features No. 3 Morra and Jones and No. 8 Jessie Aney and Graham.Â
The Orange check in No. 28 this week behind a 4-4 ACC record and an 11-4 overall record . Friday's 4 pm match will take place in central New York at Drumlins Country Club. Gabriela Knutson is the top Syracuse player at No. 40 in singles, while Miranda Ramirez is No. 90.Â
Knutson and Ramirez combine for the 71st rated doubles tandem.Â
Pitt boasts No. 111 Claudia Bartolome in its singles lineup. The Panthers are winless in eight conference matches and 4-11 overall. Sunday's match from Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa., begins at 11 a.m.
