UNC Continues ACC Play at Pittsburgh

CHAPEL HILL – Coming off a 5-0 shutout win over ECU, the Tar Heels continue their roadtrip at Pittsburgh Friday through Sunday.

The Tar Heels and Panthers will begin the series at 5 p.m. Friday and continue Saturday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game will air live on ESPNU at 4 p.m. Check back on GoHeels.com for updates. Admission is free to Vartabedian Field. Fans unable to attend can watch live on the ACC Network Extra or follow live stats at pittsburghpanthers.com.

Recently for Carolina (17-12, 6-3 ACC)
With a season high of seven stolen bases, Carolina shut out ECU, 5-0 on the road Wednesday afternoon. After four scoreless innings, Kiani Ramsey slugged a bases-clearing, three-run double to left for the lead. Berlynne Delamora drove in one more on an RBI-walk and Abby Settlemyre finalized the game's scoring with a sac-fly. Brittany Pickett threw 6.1 innings to earn her 10th win of the season.
» The Tar Heels reset their single-game high with seven stolen bases with two each by Kristina Burkhardt and Campbell Hutcherson.
» Carolina was patient at the plate, drawing seven walks to tie the second-most walks in a game this season.Â

Carolina is 3-2 at Pitt, going 1-2 in the most recent road series in 2016. Kiani Ramsey leads UNC with a .400 average on 38 hits. Brittany Pickett picked up her 10th win on Wednesday.

After narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament in 2018, Pittsburgh graduated several key players and sits at 4-26 in 2019. The Panthers picked up a win over Duke but have lost 12 of the past 13. UP has a Power Five win over Penn State. Sophomore Brie Horrell leads the Panthers with a .344 average.
