February 8, 2019 | Women's Tennis
SEATTLE - Defending champion North Carolina showed why it was selected as the No. 2 seed in the 2019 ITA National Women's Tennis Team Indoor Championship with a 4-0 shutout of No. 9 Oklahoma State in a first-round match from Nordstrom Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Washington.

No. 15 Sara Daavettila was first off to stake the Heels to a 1-0 lead. The Williamston, Michigan, product won 6-3, 7-5, over No. 120 Bunyawi Thamshaiwat.
