For the Fifth Straight Year, UNC Will Host NCAA Tournament Play

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina has been awarded the No. 7 overall seed in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship bracket and will host first and second-round matches at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on May 12 and 13.
The UNC women will also host first and second-round matches, with those on May 11 and 12.
Men's action begins at 9 a.m. on May 12 when Tennessee and UNC-Wilmington face off. At noon, sixth-ranked UNC will take on Campbell, which is making the program's first NCAA appearance.
Saturday's winners will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. for a spot in the NCAA Round of 16, to be played in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Tar Heels, currently 22-5 on the year, are hosting NCAA matches for the fifth year in a row and the sixth time in the past seven years.
UNC, which reached the field via an at-large bid, is making its 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance in 25 seasons under coach Sam Paul.
Carolina has advanced at least as far as the NCAA quarterfinals in the past four seasons. Last year was a landmark campaign for the Tar Heels, as they advanced past the quarterfinals for the first time and finished as the national runner-up.
