After a big three-game sweep over then No. 2 ranked NC State this weekend, No. 4 North Carolina will be back on the diamond to host UNC-Asheville on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET at Boshamer Stadium. This will be the last game for the Tar Heels for the next week, due to exams, as they won't play another game until the following Tuesday when they host Richmond on May 8 at 6 p.m.

UNC-ASHEVILLE SERIES HISTORY

• This will mark the 10th time that North Carolina has battled UNC-Asheville, with the Tar Heels holding a 8-1 series lead dating back to 1996.

• North Carolina hosted the Bulldogs at Boshamer Stadium last season and captured a 16-4 win. Ashton McGee had a home run and three RBI, while Brandon Riley went 3-3.

HEELS SWEEP NC STATE

North Carolina captured their first sweep over the Wolfpack since 2006 over the weekend, to move atop the ACC standings. Cooper Criswell and Austin Bergner led the Heels to wins on Friday and Saturday, while bullpen performances from Ben Casparius and Caden O'Brien helped lead the Heels to their fifth-straight ACC series victory. This was the first ever sweep of the Wolfpack in Raleigh in program history.

• Since starting the year 7-7, UNC has gone 24-6 and 17-3 in its last 20 games.

• Carolina swept NC State in Raleigh for the first time in program history.

• Carolina is currently leading the ACC with a 18-6 record, with a one game lead over Clemson. In the Coastal, UNC leads Duke by 2.5 games.

• Carolina has now won 16 of its last 18 ACC series dating back to last season.

• UNC has now swept 4 conference series (Pitt, Wake, GT, NC State), the most since the 2012 team swept 5. UNC has also won 5 straight ACC series.

• UNC leads the ACC in sweeps this year (4). 2 of the last 4 teams to top the ACC in sweeps have gone to Omaha (2015 Miami, 2017 Louisville).

• Austin Bergner's 11 Ks against NC State were the most by a UNC pitcher against NC State sine Alex White struck out 11 in a 5-2 win on March 28, 2008 in Cary.

• Bergner threw 70% of his pitches (80-for-114) against NC State for strikes.

• Over his last 4 app., Cooper Criswell is 2-1 and is averaging 13.94 K's per game. He is striking out 16 batters for every one walk and only averaging 0.87 walks per game.

• Over the last two ACC series, UNC pinch-hitters are 5-6 (.833).

• Michael Busch now has 47 RBI on the season and leads the team with 11 HR. He is currently 2nd in the ACC in RBI and tied for 2nd in ACC play in HR (7).

• Ike Freeman's current 18-game reached base streak is the best of his career. Over those 18 games he leads the team in batting avg. (.338) and is 2nd in RBI (17).

• Since Dallas Tessar joined the starting lineup in Virginia, the team is 9-1.

• Over the last 4 ACC series, Freeman is leading the team in batting average (.362).

• Freeman ranks 7th in ACC games in batting average with a .333. and 3rd in RBI (24).
