Carolina Roars Into ITA Indoor Semifinals

MADISON, Wisconsin - Third seed North Carolina earned a 4-1 victory over sixth seed Texas Tech on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 2018 ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championship.
No. 5 North Carolina (8-0) will face No. 9 Duke in the semifinals on Sunday.
The doubles point narrowly went to the Tar Heels for the early 1-0 advantage after all three courts finished with the same 6-4 outcome. No. 20 Alle Sanford and Sara Daavettila were first to post a win on court two. The Red Raiders took court three, before No. 30 Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham sealed the win on court one.
In singles, No. 78 Graham improved to 8-0 in dual matches with a scorchingly quick 6-0, 6-1, victory on court five over Sarah Dvorak.
On court one, No. 13 Gabriela Talaba took down No. 6 Sanford, 6-3, 6-4, to get Texas Tech on the board.
But it proved to be the Tar Heels' day as No. 21 Aney and No. 52 Daavettila won in straight sets on courts four and three, respectively, in a span of three minutes to send Carolina into the semifinals on Sunday.
