
UNC Cruises Past Tigers In Bid For National Indoors

CHAPEL HILL - No. 3 North Carolina picked up a 4-0 victory over LSU on Sunday during the final day of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
With the win, Carolina heads to the ITA Indoor National Championship in Charlottesville, Va., on Feb. 7-10. The Tar Heels fell to Duke in the title match last season.
North Carolina (4-0) easily handled the doubles matches, winning the point in under 30 minutes.
After dropping their doubles match against Minnesota Saturday, Loeb and Price cruise to a 6-1 win over Skylar Holloway and Amanda Atanasson.
Whitney Kay and Hayley Carter solidified the doubles point for the Tar Heels 6-2 with some great backhand play against Ella Taylor and Madara Straume.
#22 Caroline Price handled Ella Taylor easily, winning 6-2, 6-0 in her match.
#8 Jamie Loeb gave up only two games in her match over #65 Skylar Kuykendall, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 final.
Whitney Kay closed out the match for the Heels with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Skylar Holloway.
The Tar Heels will face Texas A&M on Sunday, Feb. 1 in Houston before heading to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Charlottesville, Va. the following weekend.
