UNC Sweep Golden Gophers

CHAPEL HILL - The No. 3 North Carolina women's tennis team cruised to victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers with a 4-0 win on Saturday during the opening round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
No. 13-ranked duo Kate Vialle and Ashley Dai secured the doubles point for the Tar Heels after breaking Tereza Brichacova and Mehivish Safdar twice to win 6-3.
Whitney Kay and Hayley Carter cruised to a 6-2 win over Caroline Ryba and Aria Lambert with several aces from the Tar Heels.
Caroline Price and Jamie Loeb dropped their match 2-6 to Paula Rincon-Otero and Julia Courter after going down early in the set.
Whitney Kay earned a point for the Heels in her win over Aria Lambert 6-2, 6-0.
Caroline Price also cruised to victory over Jessika Mozia 6-1, 6-0.
Ashley Dai sealed the win for Carolina with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Paula Rincon-Otero.
UNC will take on LSU at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
