No. 10 Carolina Rolls Past Hawai'i

HONOLULU --- The No. 10 North Carolina women's tennis team did not drop a set en route to an impressive 7-0 win over homestanding Hawai'i Tuesday at the UH Tennis Complex. Carolina lost just four games in sweeping the doubles point and scored six straight-set wins in singles.
No. 4 Jenna Long and Sara Anundsen set the tone at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 win over Kana Aikawa and Sophie Kobuch. No. 21 Caitlin Collins and Sanaz Marand posted an 8-0 win at No. 2, while Austin Smith and Katrina Tsang were 8-2 winners at No. 3.
In singles play, No. 54 Smith and No. 69 Marand did not drop a single game in a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Collins was close to perfect at No. 4, defeating Samantha Capella 6-2, 6-0, while No. 40 Tsang also had a flawless set in a 7-6 (4), 6-0 win at No. 2.
No. 6 Long scored a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1, while fellow senior Anundsen won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 3 position.
Carolina will continue their Hawai'i trip with a pair of matches Thursday. The Tar Heels will face No. 51 Purdue at 9 a.m. HT and Gonzaga later that day at 2 p.m.
