CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina juniors Meg Fanjoy and Laura Reichert and freshman Jelena Durisic all were part of three victories on day two of the fourth-annual Kitty Harrison Invitational Saturday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
In the early session, UNC took three of four doubles matches from Virginia/College of Charleston/William & Mary. Durisic teamed with sophomore Katrina Tsang for an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Fanjoy and Reichert won at No. 3 by a score of 8-4. Linzee Mabrey and Alexandra Jurewitz also won at No. 4.
Tar Heel tandems also took three of four matches from Furman in the day's second session. Durisic moved up to No. 1 with junior Sophie Grabinski for an 8-6 win, while Fanjoy and Jurewitz were victorious at No. 3. Reichert teamed with Mabrey for an 8-5 win at No. 4.
Carolina took three singles matches in the afternoon session from Marshall opponents. Reichert won, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2, Durisic won, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3 and Fanjoy won, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5.
Points will be tallied based on performance after the early session Sunday to determine final pairings.
