The Dukes then tallied four unanswered goals to take the lead for good. Alissa Santanna scored the team's first goal on a rebound of a save by UNC goalkeeper Amy Tran in the 23rd minute. Nine seconds before halftime, JMU tied the score on a goal by Janelle Perlis, assisted by Linsday Keller.
