#3 Women's Lacrosse Team Upset by #15 William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The third-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse team lost its second successive game Saturday afternoon as 15th-ranked William & Mary upset the Tar Heels 7-5.
The loss drops the Tar Heels to 4-4 on the season while William & Mary improved to 2-5.
The Tribe was paced to the victory by the offensive efforts of Dani Vissers and Colette Chaput, each of whom scored two goals. Vissers also added an assist. Single tallies for the Tribe were added by Meghan Schneider, Amy Pugno and Tara Hannaford.
UNC junior attacker Kristin Off led the UNC offense with two goals and one assist. Defenders Jenny Voishan and Katie Loovis each had a goal for UNC and freshman attacker Erin McInnes had one goal.
UNC will try to regroup this coming week when the Tar Heels play at Virginia Tech on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Heels' next home game is against seventh-ranked Georgetown next Saturday at 3 p.m. at Navy Field.
