Brandon Kennedy joined the Carolina football program as the Director of Football Student-Athlete Development in August of 2023. Kennedy came to Chapel Hill after serving as an academic program advisor at Alabama.
While at Alabama, Kennedy worked closely with student-athletes, providing resources and plans to assist with academic progress. He also advised those students on course selection, pathways and career options. Prior to his time at Alabama, Kennedy served as an assistant academic counselor at UNC, serving as a mentor and counselor.
Kennedy also played football as a student-athlete at both Alabama and Tennessee. He was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which is awarded to the nation’s top scholar-athlete, and was tabbed a team captain during his final season at Tennessee. While finishing his time as a player in the collegiate ranks, Kennedy participated in internships on player development and with the Director of Mental Training for the Volunteers.
A Wetumpka, Ala. Native, Kennedy earned three degrees during his time in college. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in biology from Alabama and two master’s degrees from Tennessee, one in sport psychology and motor behavior, and one in agriculture leadership, education and communication.
