Career Notes: One of the most efficient offensive players in Carolina history, she hit .399 with 408 kills on 792 swings with 243 career blocks • Played in just 48 sets over her first two seasons, lying in wait behind a pair of All-American middles, but came into her own as an upperclassman, playing in a total of 227 sets over 82 matches, including all 28 matches of her senior year • Ranked 10th all time at UNC with 1.07 blocks per set • While she did meet the minimum of 1,000 total attempts, her .399 career hitting percentage was 50 points ahead of the 1999 record of .349 • The only Tar Heel in history to take more than 30 career swings and hit above .375.
2017 (Senior): Saved her best season for last, playing in all 28 matches at middle hitter, starting all-but-one over 104 sets • Led the ACC in hitting percentage for the second straight season, hitting .378 • Third all-time at UNC in single-season hitting percentage • Second on the team with 231 kills (2.22/s) and 120 blocks (1.15/s), adding 12 digs and four aces • 32nd in the NCAA in hitting percentage and 87th in blocks per set • Recorded 11 double-digit kill matches, and hit above .400 with at least eight kills 14 times • Hit at least .500 in 10 matches • Hit .667 with 10 kills and no errors against Wake Forest (10/8) • Hit .615 with 10 kills and five blocks against LIU Brooklyn • Stuffed five or more blocks in 12 matches, including five matches with at least seven • Registered a career-high and team-season-high 11 blocks at Wake Forest (11/22) to help Carolina tie the rally-scoring record of 21.5 team blocks • Tallied 24 blocks over the final three matches of the season to finish ninth in the ACC in blocks per set • All-ACC First Team • AVCA All-East Coast Region.
2016 (Junior): Had a breakout campaign as a junior, playing in 29 matches (75 sets) and making 14 starts • Led the ACC by hitting .446 on the season, nearly .100 better than the next qualifying conference player, while also hitting a league-best .403 during conference matches • Totaled 128 kills with just 24 errors on 233 swings to go with 81 blocks • Ranked 10th in the ACC with 1.08 blocks per set overall and 1.13 during ACC matches • Split time in the middle for much of the season, but started the final 11 matches of the year after Sydnye Fields suffered an injury • Hit .444 with 79 kills and 48 blocks over the last 11 matches, averaging 7.2 kills and 4.4 blocks per match • Did not play in enough sets to qualify for national rankings or awards, but her .446 hitting percentage beat the highest qualifying attacker in the nation (.439) • Hit .500 with a then-career-high nine kills and seven blocks in a start against Sam Houston State • Hit .667 with a career-high 11 kills against Coastal Carolina to help UNC post the highest team hitting percentage (.310) in an NCAA Tournament match in program history • Her efficient hitting and strong blocking helped UNC to set a new single-season record for block assists (661) while posting the second-highest hitting percentage in school history (.273).
2015 (Sophomore): Played in 20 sets in nine matches, with four starts • Totaled 17 kills and 15 blocks, hitting .344 on the season • Had a season-high five blocks with three kills against No. 11 BYU.
2014 (Freshman): Played in 28 sets in 16 matches, with two starts • Pounded 32 kills on a .410 hitting percentage on the season • Posted 27 total blocks (0.96/set) with four solo blocks • Had eight kills on only nine swings vs. VCU (9/13) • Notched five kills and six blocks vs. Georgia Tech (11/7) • ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Ranked as the No. 72 overall recruit by PrepVolleyball.com • One of 10 middle blockers named to PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 50 Juniors List • Helped Winter Park High School to the 2013 Florida 8A High School State Championship and a runner-up finish in 2011 • Named AVCA High School All-America First Team as a senior • Led her Orlando Volleyball Academy (OVA) 17 Asics team to back-to-back USAV National appearances in 2013 and 2014 • Helped her OVA 15 Asics team win the Big South Qualifier in Atlanta • Named All-Metro twice.
Personal: Born Anna Elizabeth Nordhorn on Nov. 6 • Daughter of Marinanne and Peter Nordhorn • Participates in the Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy in the Veteran Leaders program • National Honor Society member • Part of the International Baccalaureate Program • Volunteered with the Winter Park Day Nursery, SPCA and at the local library • Majoring in exercise and sport science with minors in chemistry and neuroscience.
