Prep: Graduated from Apex High School…did club swimming for Raleigh Swimming Association for past three years after competing for New Wave Swim Team for nine years…coached at RSA by Kit Raulerson…four-year letterman at Apex High…an extremely versatile swimmer who specialized in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 back, 400 IM, 500 free and 1650 free…named a North Carolina All-Star three straight years (2010-12)…North Carolina 4A state champion in 500-yard freestyle in 2011 and 2012…named a high school All-America in the 500 free in 2011…qualified for 2012 Olympic Trials in the 200-meter butterfly…three-time Apex team captain and four-time Apex swimming MVP…named an NC Scholar.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is the competitive and dedicated team atmosphere
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his wisdom and experience.
3. Since last year the aspects of my training I’ve worked on the most are my butterfly and dryland intensity.

5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my focus and dedication.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time at our lake house in Virginia.
2. The best movie I’ve seen recently is Airplane.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. The music act I’d most like to see in person is a crazy concert with The Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is building furniture from recycled materials.

1. After a big meet, I’d like to eat at a buffet spread that included steak tips and rice.
