Schedule:  Saturday, January 25:
                   6:00-9:00 PM: Coaches/Wrestlers check-in and pick up packet
                   6:00-9:00 PM: Open Mat Session - Carolina Wrestling room available for workouts
                   8:00 PM: Deadline for verification of weight class entry and payment for Open Division & Freshman/Sophomore Division

                  Sunday, January 26:
                   6:00 AM: Venue doors open to wrestlers and team staff
                   6:45 AM: Skin-checks mat side
                  7:00 AM: Weigh-in mat side
                  8:00 AM: Venue doors open to public
                   9:01 AM: Wrestling Begins

Format: The 2025 North Carolina Open features two divisions:
                   1 – Freshman/Sophomore Division: geared for 1st / 2 nd -year male wrestlers (including Upper Classmen) who might not be ready for the OPEN Division. The goal of this division is to provide these individuals more opportunity to advance further in an early-season college level tournament.
                   2 – OPEN DIVISION: open to ANY AND ALL male participants; geared for wrestlers who WILL and NEED TO compete at the highest levels of Division I wrestling. This tournament is also open to all college wrestlers, regardless of year, and will be limited to the first 250 registered and PAID wrestlers.

Both divisions are double-elimination in 16/24 wrestler brackets. Wrestle to 6 places on up to 6 mats.

Rules: Both Divisions will follow NCAA rules – folkstyle, 3 – 2 - 2 minutes with riding time (includes consolations)

Check-In: ALL teams and non-rostered / unattached wrestlers are encouraged to check-in and pick up their Team / Competitor packets on Saturday evening, January 25th, at Carmichael Arena. Rosters must be finalized by 8:00 PM January 25th, no changes will be permitted after that time. Team packets will contain passes for coaches, wrestlers, trainers and managers and will be available on Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Open mats are available during check-in from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM in UNC Wrestling Room.

Tournament director reserves the right to make changes that are in the best interest of running the best Southeastern open wrestling tournament possible.

Registration: Online registration and payment from October 1, 2024 to January 24, 2025

Entry & Payment: Online Only.

Registrations and Payments must be made in full at the time of registration. Only scratches made before Sunday, January 12th 2025 will be refunded. Scratched entries on or after January 12th will not be refunded. Streamlined, limited registrations allow us to set up and run the tournament in a way that ensures an early end to the tournament, allowing teams to be on their way as early as possible on Sunday.

$65 + $2 Processing Fee, must be registered and paid online via the Wrestle Reg web site wrestlereg.com by 11:59 PM, Friday, January 24th, 2025. Payments may be made with major credit cards. Seeding information must accompany your entry for any wrestlers that you would like to be considered for a seed. If you haven't paid or registered and will not be in the brackets for weigh-in.

Entry Changes: Change of Weight Class or Division must be made before 8:00 PM Saturday, January 25th, 2025. Scratch deadline is Sunday, January 12th, 2025. Any wrestlers not making their designated weight at Saturday morning weigh-ins will be forfeited; no bracket changes will be made after 8:00 PM Sunday, January 25th .

Fan Admission: Doors Open at 8:00 AM for public. Limited seating available, please bring folding chairs if you prefer to sit.
