Career Best Times: 1:39.40 in 200-yard freestyle; 48.67 in 100-yard backstroke; 1:45.33 in 200-yard backstroke; 48.59 in 100-yard butterfly; 1:48.91 in 200-yard butterfly; 1:51.51 in 200-yard individual medley; 3:52.36 in 400-yard individual medley.
Long Course Highlights: At the August 2011 U.S. Nationals, he placed 22nd in the 200-meter backstroke in a time of 2:02.19.
2011-12: Place in three events at the 2012 ACC Championships...was 10th in the 400 IM (3:53.19), 13th in the 100 back (49.07) and 14th in the 200 back (1:46.92)...excelled at the 2011 Nike Cup Championships...won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:45.93, was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 49.07 and placed third in the 400-yard individual medley in 3:56.85...was also 10th in the 200 IM and swam on a 400 medley relay which won the bronze medal and a 200 medley relay which took fourth place...during the dual meet season he had two individual wins against Maryland and won single events against ECU, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech...in the dual meet win over the Hokies he set what was then the VT pool record in the 200 back at 1:48.86...selected for 2011-12 All-ACC Academic Team...a College Swimming Coaches Association of America honorable mention Scholar All-America...named to Dean's List in second semester of freshman year...ACC Academic Honor Roll selection in 2011-12
Prep: Graduated from King Philip High School in Wrentham, Mass. ...swam his sophomore through senior years there...won state championships all three years in both the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke...broke the Massachusetts state record in the 100 back as a senior by going 49.60...led King Philip to an undefeated regular season his senior year...KPHS won conference title, Mass. 1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer/diver is my teammates
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Deselm is our team meetings.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is lifting.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is John Vatkevich at Lake Forest.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my mental strength.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time playing Super Smash Bros with Bollerman.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Avengers.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.

5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is my admiration for Justin Beiber.
