Freshman Season (2011)
Had an exceptional freshman year after walking on the team in early August 2011 • did not see action early in the year but then started against UNCG on September 9 and played 52 minutes • a week later she logged 75 minutes versus NC State and then 67 minutes versus Virginia on Sept. 25 • she moved into the starting lineup for good on September 29 against Florida State and started the last 12 matches of the season • she played every minute the remainder of the campaign • finished with 1,369 minutes played • had the game-winning assist in a 1-0 victory at Boston College • named a CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week on November 15, 2011 after Carolina's first round NCAA win over William & Mary • named to the 2012 ACC Academic Honor Roll, the fall semester 2011 Dean's List and the 2012 spring semester Dean's List.

Kristina Caitlin Ball is the daughter of Don Ball and Hannah Adams • was born December 20, 1992 in Raleigh, N.C. • has volunteered as a Special Olympics coach in soccer, basketball, swimming and track • both of her parents played college tennis, her mother at East Carolina for four years and her father at the Naval Academy and William & Mary • her grandmother was included in the first class of women to attend UNC, graduating in 1941 • lists Ultimate (Frisbee) as her second favorite sport • member of Champions for Christ and Outreach representative for the soccer team • has a double major in journalism and mass communication and political science.

Section #1: Soccer
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel soccer player is becoming part of the huge family that is the Carolina soccer program.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Dorrance is his genuine kindness. He cares about his players as if each one was his daughter.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my strength and my long ball.
4. My best friend on another college soccer team is Rachel Wood at UC-Irvine.
5. My greatest strength as a soccer player is my ability to read a play quickly.
Section #2: Interests
1. Away from the soccer field and academic pursuits I like to spend time listening to music, worshipping God and reading.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Moonrise Kingdom.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be gymnastics, but I'd be awful at it.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Florance + The Machine.
5. The personal interests I have that might surprise my teammates is I love playing ultimate Frisbee.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a buffet spread at McCaskill that included macn'cheese, cake pops and tomatoes and mozzarella.
2. My favorite beverage is chocolate milk.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is grilled eggplant parmesan.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is my best friend Lilah's house.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is eating cupcakes by the pound.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to about 30 A.D., the moment Paul became a convert.
2. My most prized personal possession is my Bible.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
4. My dream job is traveling the world writing and spreading God's word and His glory in some way.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is Champions' leader Felix Sebera.
