2018: Played in every set of Carolina’s 27 matches • Recorded the second-most digs with 193 to cap off her career with 506 • Collected double-digit digs six times, highlighted by a season best of 21 vs. NC State (9/26) • Had the third-most aces for Carolina 15 • Hit two aces four times: Maryland Eastern Shore (9/1), Georgia Tech (10/26), Duke (11/2) and Miami (11/11).
2017: Played in 27 of 28 matches (95 sets), making 18 starts at libero • Totaled 285 digs (2.97/s), 84 assists, five aces and three kills • Took over at libero at the start of ACC play after Mia Fradenburg was sidelined with an injury • Played 17 full ACC matches at libero along with the first set vs. Wake Forest; played DS during nonconference play as well as against Boston College (11/3) and at Duke (11/24) • Averaged 3.7 digs per set while at libero • Tallied 12 double-digit dig performances, including four 20-dig matches • Recorded a career-high 24 digs in a sweep of Syracuse, which tied for the ninth-most digs by a Tar Heel in a three-set match during rally-scoring play • Just missed double-doubles in back-to-back matches with nine assists and 21 digs at Georgia Tech (10/1) and nine assists, 15 digs vs. Duke (10/6).
2016: Appeared in 20 matches (37 sets) as a serving specialist and defensive substitute • Registered 19 digs and three service aces on the season • Served up the first two aces of her career on back-to-back plays late in the second set at No. 9 Penn State to give the Heels a 23-22 lead en route to their first-ever victory over the Nittany Lions • Posted a career-high five digs as well as an ace against Virginia Tech.
2015: Appeared in five matches (8 sets) as a true freshman • Totaled nine digs and four assists • Played the final two sets against BYU and the first set against Chicago State at libero, posting four digs in each match.
Prep: Two-year starter as a libero for La Costa Canyon High School •Three-year starter for WAVE at the libero position • Selected as captain all four years of high school • Led WAVE to a second-place finish at the 2014 USAV Girls Junior National Championship in the 18 Open division.
Personal: Born Casey Brit Jacobs on July 29 in La Jolla, Calif. • Daughter of Dana and Warren Jacobs • Secretary of the Interact Club at La Costa Canyon • Mother Dana surfs competitively • Enjoys writing in her free time, especially short stories and poems • Cousin of Sue Woodstra, 1984 Olympic Silver Medalist and captain of the USA Women’s National Volleyball team • Majoring in exercise and sport science – sport administration track.
