General--Three-year starter in the goal for Carolina who will once again hold down the starting spot in 2005......ranked second nationally in goals against average as a sophomore and ninth as a junior...split time as the starter with Jenni Branam in 2002...all-time leader career saves at UNC with 174.
National Team -- A past member of the United States Under-18 National Team...named to U.S. National Soccer pool Under-14 team in 1997, Under-15 team in 1998 and Under-16 team in 2000.
Club Soccer-- Earned membership on Region IV soccer pool 1997-2000...NORCAL state team player 1997-2000...helped lead team to Nomad Tournament Under-19 championship in 2001...played for the DVSC United 19 which won the Premier State Cup Championship in 2000.
2004 Season - Started all 23 games for UNC in the goal...ranked ninth in the nation in goals against average at 0.56...made 47 saves and allowed only 13 goals...recorded eight solo shutouts...played 2,082 minutes in the goal...recorded a record of 20-1-2...had a season-high seven saves at Tennessee in a 0-0 scoreless tie...had five saves in the road win at Clemson and four in the ACC Tournament final versus Virginia...named to Dean's List in both semesters of school year...also named to 2005 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2003 Season-- Started all 27 games for Carolina and developed into one of the top goalies in the nation... had second best goals against average in the nation at 0.43...allowed only 11 goals in 27 matches...ranked No. 1 in the nation in minutes played...did not allow a single goal in six NCAA Tournament games...posted 16 solo shutouts on the campaign...first-team All-America selection by Soccer Post...named the Waterscapes UNC Student-Athlete of the Week on September 15, 2003...chosen for the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week on September 16, 2003...had six saves against Washington State, against Duke in the regular season and against Maryland, five saves versus Texas and UCLA in the regular season and four each against Purdue and Santa Clara in the NCAA Tournament.
2002 Season--Named honorable mention freshman All-America by Soccer Buzz...Soccer Buzz Southeast Region All-Freshman Team choice...had a solid freshman year...she shared starting goalkeeping duties with Jenni Branam...started nine of 19 games she played in...played 1,254 minutes and led the ACC in goals against average at 0.93...made 56 saves and had a save percentage of .812...finished with a 10-1-2 record and had solo shutouts against Portland, Oregon and Saint Mary's...her season high for saves was eight against Texas...that still stands as he career high in a match...she also had seven saves in the win over Marquette and six saves while holding NCAA champion Portland scoreless for 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie with the Pilots. 2001 Season--Red shirted in her first season at UNC.
Prep--Graduated from Carondelet High School in Concord, Calif. on June 2, 2001...was an NSCAA/adidas All-America in 2000 and the NSCAA/adidas State Player of the Year for 2000...was the starting goalkeeper on a Carondelet team which finished in the top ranks of the final NSCAA high school rankings...as a high school goalie, she allowed only two goals in 1998, one goal in 1999, two goals in 2000 and eight goals in 2001...played four years of soccer in high school as a center forward and goalkeeper...led her high school team to NCS championships in 1999 and 2001...is one of only four players in school history to play on two winning NCS title teams...led CHS to BVAL league championships four times from 1998-2001...played on teams which were ranked No. 1 high school team in the nation by USA Today in 1999 and 2000 and by the NSCAA in 1999...also played two years of volleyball as an outside hitter and setter for her high school team and City Beach Volleyball Club...was soccer team's captain in 2000-01...a BVAL All-League First Team choice in 2001...named to NSCAA/adidas All-American High School team in 1999...All Far West High School selection in 1999...was an honor roll student and won the Principal's Scholarship Award as a sophomore.
Personal--Given name is Alysha Alayne Yount-Winget...has two sisters... is the daughter of Cheri A. Winget...was also raised by her grandmother, Norma Winget...was born October 25, 1983 in Santa Clara, Calif... athletes she most admires are Kasey Keller, Tony Meola, Cobi Jones and Gabrielle Reese...biggest sports thrill was beating Santa Clara in the 2003 NCAA quarterfinals...communications major with minor in history...would like to pursue a career as a sports representative...her favorite food is the steak at the Angus Barn...favorite TV shows are The OC and One Tree Hill...people who have most influenced her athletic career are Rusty Taylor and Greg Bingham.
